Number 1 problem of Nigeria as a Nation is that everybody wants to be in power before providing solutions to problems in Nigeria. Anyone that is conversant with the politics of Nigeria will know this fact and this is the bedrock of the problems facing this Nation. A Vice or Deputy of a particular Political office Holder will run tenure with the main office holder for Eight Years and come out after Eight years that his/her Boss does not do the right thing while in power.
To understand this problem practically, look back in the history of Nigeria since 1999, all past Vice Presidents had always been showing interest in ruling the Nation after finishing Eight years in office with their respective Bosses (Presidents). Any well informed Nigerian should be borthered about their (Former Vice Presidents) intentions because what exactly are they coming to correct that they hid from their Superiors while in power. 99.99% of today’s political office holders in Nigeria has this attitude, they know solutions to problems faced by Nigeria and Nigerians but always wanted to be in Top helm of affairs before they can unveil their solutions.
As simple as the issue stated above could look, it is the bedrock of the problems facing Nigerians and Nigeria. Scientifically, once a problem is Identified, the next thing to do is to look for possible solutions. The steps below would solve 50% of the Nigerian Leadership Selection problems if well utilized in the coming General Election in 2027.
STEP 1 : RELEGATE THE Political Connivers, Political Syco-machiavellians
The Political Conievers and Political Syco-machiavellians are those that work closely with Leaders in Government, they know What the leaders are doing is bad and affectting Citizens Negatively but they are okay with that simply because they wanted things to remain Bad till they are able to be in Power as leaders so they can take the glory that they are the one capable of solving societal problems. These politicians could be those elected alongside the leaders (Vice or Deputy, Senators or Reprisentatives) or those selected by the leaders (like Ministers, Commisionals, Directors, Chairmen of Agencys and Boards, Special Advisers, PAs etc) to work with them while in office.
STEP 2: QUERY ASPIRANTS FOR ALTERNATIVE
This step is the best to know how true all these politicians love this Nation. It will also be a win win for the Nation as there will be competition in deliverability of dividents of democracy.
How it works, let’s make it a culture to ask aspirants this strong questions;
- In case you loose this election, which other Department, Ministry or Agency do you think you could handle properly if offered to you by the winner? The Response to this will show how truly these people (Politicians) really loves this country. A genuiene lover of the Nation should be able to accept to work in another capacity other than the intended Position if truly they are sincerely inclined to serving the people as they do claim. For instant, as an Aspirant, be it Presidential, Governorship, Chairmanship, (Especially if not the one seeking re-election for second term) there are other critical ministry or Commsion you should be able to handle very well to convince the people that you are truly commited to serve the people. Ability to perform brilliantly in the choosen Ministry, Commission or Agency will serve as evidence next time you are campagning for the position or higher position. This is also a win-win for the people as there will be competitive performance between the winner and the looser.
- Incase you loose, are you willing to give out all your proposed Solution template to the winner to operate with? As said earlier, if we are able to stop the I must get there before i can profer solution syndrome, this country would be better off by 70%. Whatever the outcome of the election is, in as much as you claim you love the country or state or Local Government as the case maybe, you should be willing to hand over the solutions you planned to use if you eventually win to the final winner, incase you loose. Keeping the solutions to yourself and waiting for the winner to fail is unpatrotic as you may not live to see the next Election cycle incase the winner mis-ruled the people.
- In case you Win, should the looser give you recommendations, solutions to certain issues, will you be willing to use them accordingly? Also, if you fail to work with the Looser’s recommendations and your Tenure becomes difficult for citizens due to your own non functional solution, how would you feel when Citizens protest because of this?
